Abstract

The hospitality industry, as a significant contributor to global tourism, faces growing pressure to adopt sustainable practices and green initiatives in order to mitigate its environmental footprint. Hotels consume substantial amounts of energy, water, and resources, while simultaneously generating waste and emissions that impact local ecosystems. In response, hotel management has increasingly embraced sustainability strategies such as energy-efficient technologies, water conservation systems, waste management programs, and eco-friendly architectural designs. Green initiatives, including the use of renewable energy, sustainable sourcing of food and materials, and guest awareness programs, not only enhance environmental responsibility but also contribute to operational cost savings and improved brand reputation. Furthermore, the integration of certifications and green rating systems strengthens the credibility of sustainable efforts, encouraging transparency and accountability within the industry. This transition toward sustainability is also driven by evolving consumer expectations, as modern travelers prioritize environmentally conscious accommodations. By aligning operational efficiency with ecological stewardship, sustainable hotel management practices create a pathway toward long-term competitiveness, social responsibility, and resilience against global environmental challenges.
