This chapter explores the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the context of India's vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, aiming to establish a developed and inclusive nation by its centenary of independence. It highlights education as the cornerstone of this vision, emphasising the need for 100% literacy, a skilled workforce, and social equity. The chapter examines the integration of AI in education, focusing on personalised learning experiences, teacher professional development, and the importance of data-driven approaches in enhancing educational outcomes. It also addresses ethical challenges, such as data privacy and algorithmic bias, stressing the necessity of robust policies and institutional preparedness to navigate these issues. Through case studies on regional inclusion and vernacular access, the chapter illustrates AI's role in democratizing quality education across India's diverse linguistic landscape. Grounded in insights from the National Education Policy 2020 and various government initiatives, this chapter presents a comprehensive roadmap for leveraging AI in educational reform, linking skill development and employability to national aspirations. Ultimately, it advocates for a collaborative approach among policymakers, educators, and industry leaders to realise the ambitious goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.Published
