Abstract

This case study explored postgraduate students’ attitudes and utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in higher education. Data from open-ended questionnaires (n=10) revealed predominantly positive perceptions of AI’s role in academic tasks, including research, content creation, and problem-solving. However, concerns about academic integrity, overdependence, and skill degradation emerged. Usage patterns highlighted high adoption rates in research activities and writing support, with students advocating for balanced integration. The study underscores the need for institutional policies that harmonise AI’s benefits with ethical and pedagogical safeguards.
