Abstract

This case study investigates the awareness of higher education students regarding ethical issues associated with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Research. The study explores the importance of understanding ethical concerns in AI-driven Research, highlighting the need for educators to integrate ethics education into higher education curricula. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through interviews with 50 PhD scholars from Visva Bharati. The findings reveal that students are facing several ethical issues in using AI, including bias, accountability, and privacy concerns. The study emphasises the need to promote a culture of responsible innovation and ensure that future generations of researchers work with integrity and mindfulness. The results have implications for educators, policymakers, and business leaders to prioritise ethics education and develop a more ethically aware and accountable generation of AI researchers.
