In an age where education is increasingly shaped by standardization and global uniformity, ancient knowledge traditions offer enduring insights into holistic and meaningful learning. Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), nurtured through centuries of lived experience and cultural practice, represent a profound confluence of philosophy, science, ethics, ecology, and social wisdom. Rooted in integrative ways of knowing, IKS foreground the unity of intellectual, moral, spiritual, and practical dimensions of human development. In contemporary higher education, the integration of IKS has emerged as a significant pedagogical response to the limitations of fragmented and examination-driven learning models. This chapter examines the relevance of IKS as a transformative educational framework that extends beyond cultural preservation to address issues of inclusivity, epistemic diversity, and sustainability. It explores the educational value of IKS in promoting holistic development, cognitive plurality, value-based learning, and ecological consciousness. The chapter also discusses curriculum integration strategies, interdisciplinary learning, experiential and community-based pedagogies, and culturally responsive teaching practices inspired by IKS. Furthermore, it critically analyzes key challenges in implementation and proposes strategic pathways, including phased integration, collaborative curriculum development, professional capacity building, and flexible assessment practices. The chapter argues that embedding IKS within higher education can foster socially responsible, culturally grounded, and future-ready learners in the 21stcentury.Published
