Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) represent a vast and historically rich body of indigenous knowledge encompassing diverse fields such as philosophy, science, linguistics, medicine, arts, and cultural traditions. Despite their immense intellectual value, these knowledge systems face significant challenges in terms of preservation, accessibility, and integration into contemporary education and research. The emergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers transformative opportunities for digitizing, interpreting, and disseminating traditional knowledge. AI technologies, including natural language processing, machine learning, knowledge representation, and immersive digital tools, can play a vital role in safeguarding cultural heritage while enhancing global accessibility. This paper examines the potential applications of AI in preserving Indian Knowledge Systems, identifies challenges in implementation, and discusses ongoing initiatives and future prospects. The study concludes that AI can significantly contribute to the sustainable preservation and promotion of IKS when supported by interdisciplinary collaboration, ethical frameworks, and policy initiatives.Published
