Abstract

The brain's unique capacity for adaptation and change is known as neuroplasticity. From early childhood to old age, it supports the development and learning of our brain. This chapter discusses the development of the brain, how certain microscopic components known as molecules aid in its transformation, and how other cells known as glial cells facilitate this process. It also describes how we might enhance the brain through activities like exercise or specific therapies. Recent brain scan investigations demonstrate how the connections in the brain evolve throughout time. Researchers are also developing new tools to better understand and assist our brains, but they also consider how to ensure that these approaches are equitable and safe.
