This chapter examines the integration of indigenous knowledge into environmental education to promote sustainability. Indigenous knowledge systems, developed over centuries through intimate relationships with the land and natural resources, offer invaluable insights into sustainable practices, biodiversity conservation, and ecological stewardship. Despite historical marginalization, these knowledge systems are increasingly recognized as essential for addressing contemporary environmental challenges such as climate change and resource depletion. The chapter explores how incorporating indigenous perspectives into educational frameworks can foster cultural resilience, ecological awareness, and a more holistic approach to sustainability. However, challenges like lack of awareness, geographic differences, and the loss of cultural context complicate the integration process. By combining indigenous knowledge with modern education systems, it is possible to equip students with the tools to address global environmental issues. Ultimately, this integration aims to create a more inclusive, sustainable future while preserving cultural heritage and promoting environmental ethics.Published
