GREEN ENERGY NEED AND REVOLUTION- A STUDY WITH RESPECT TO INDIA AND WORLD

Abstract

The increasing threat of climate change, depletion of conventional energy resources, and continuously rising global energy demand have made green energy a critical component of sustainable development. Green energy, obtained from renewable and environmentally benign sources, provides an effective alternative to fossil fuels while ensuring long-term energy security. This study examines the growing necessity and transformation of green energy at both global and Indian levels. Using secondary data from recognized national and international energy agencies, along with primary survey-based analysis, the study evaluates trends in renewable energy adoption, sectoral energy consumption patterns, and regional installed capacity in India. Statistical tools are applied to assess the influence of government policies and consumer perception on renewable energy growth, particularly solar energy adoption. The findings reveal that policy support and positive consumer attitudes significantly contribute to renewable energy expansion. Although challenges such as infrastructure limitations, financing barriers, and grid integration issues remain, the overall trajectory of green energy development is positive. The study concludes that sustained policy intervention, technological innovation, and public participation are essential to accelerate the green energy transition.
