Abstract

This paper provides a comprehensive review of curriculum design for inclusive physical education (PE), examining its theoretical underpinnings, core components, practical implementation strategies, prevalent challenges, and profound benefits. Drawing upon scholarly literature, it synthesizes key concepts such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Models-Based Practice (MbP), highlighting their application in creating equitable and engaging PE environments. The review delves into specific adaptations for students with diverse needs, including physical, intellectual, autism spectrum disorder, and visual impairments, emphasizing individualized approaches and collaborative strategies. It also addresses the critical role of teacher training, resource allocation, and policy support in overcoming implementation barriers. Furthermore, the paper explores the multifaceted positive impacts of inclusive PE on students' physical, mental, emotional, social, and cognitive development, advocating for a holistic and student-centered approach to foster lifelong physical activity and well-being for all.
