PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF BULLYING ON YOUTH IN INDIAN PERSPECTIVE

Any type of bullying incident has various psychological consequences on the person being bullied or victimized. Mainly there are four types of bullying: cyber bullying, physical bullying, social bullying and verbal bullying. The main objectives of the research work focused on identify different types of bullying in India perspective, psychological effect of bullying incidents on youth in Indian perspective and demographic aspects and psychological effect of bullying incidents. Based on the research questions and objectives mainly two hypotheses were being framed. The hypothesis H10 finds the association between psychological effect of bullying incidents on youth based on demographic factor gender where as the hypothesis H20 identifies the relationship between psychological effects of bullying incidents on youth based on demographic factor age. In the research design the sampling technique being used was a non-probability-based convenience sampling technique. Further for data collection a well-structured questionnaire was being drafted and was tested using the reliability and validity method that is “Cronbach's Alpha Method”, the outcomes of the results were in accordance with Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.803. The results conclude that the majority of respondents, about 33%, were being cyber bullied. The bullying incidents badly affect the mental health of victims.Published
