Abstract

The contribution of Jain Philosophy in developing the Indian Knowledge System has been very substantial and long-term in terms of its immense contribution in the field of philosophy, ethics, and thought. According to the ancient teachings of Sramana, the Jain philosophy introduces a universal worldview and comprehensive worldview and incorporates metaphysics, epistemology, logic, morality, and spiritual practices. Its unique mode of knowledge that focuses on openness, multiplicity of perspectives and intellectual humility have contributed to the Indian philosophical dialogue and empowered ways of reasoning and critical thinking. Jain commentators and Acharyas of Kundakunda and Umaswami, Sambandabhadra to Viesen, Jayasen, Haribhadra, Hemacandra, and Yasovijaya, Akalanka pursued the systematic treatises, which impacted on the above mentioned area.
