The rapid expansion of information and digital technology has become an integral part of everyday life. While these technologies offer numerous opportunities, their excessive use has also posed a major concern for mental health and well-being. This review study examines the relationship between digital technologies and mental health by analysing both the risks and potential opportunities associated with modern digital technology use. The study analyses the existing studies on mental health concerns linked to digital technology, including anxiety, depression, cyberbullying, online harassment, body image concerns, eating disorders, and sleep disruption. At the same time, it also examines the positive role of digital technology in promoting mental health awareness, social connectedness, expanding tele-mental health services and supporting identity exploration. The findings suggest that excessive use of digital technology poses a threat to mental health, while it also provides mental health support and intervention.Published
