Abstract

The concept of Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), which emphasizes the integration of the best available research data with clinical competence and patient values, is a key component of contemporary health sciences education. The conceptual underpinnings, evolution, and implementation of EBP in health sciences curricula are examined in this chapter, with an emphasis on how it might enhance clinical judgment and patient outcomes. It looks at important elements such as the hierarchy of evidence, critical appraisal abilities, and the methodical procedures needed to use EBP. Alongside pedagogical approaches for successful teaching and learning, like problem-based learning and simulation-based education, key elements of EBP, such as the hierarchy of evidence, systematic inquiry, and critical appraisal, are examined.
