HEUTAGOGICAL APPROACH OF SELF-LEARNING, SELF-DETERMINATION AND SELF-REFLECTION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

This paper is aimed to study how the role of heutagogy helps in fostering motivation for self-learning in higher education. Higher education is that stage in which students gain maturity and show some Personality traits that enable them not only in achieving their learning goals but also through their cognitive, emotional and social mind help in developing and contributing to the effective solutions for the different aspects of the society. Students are at that stage in which they develop their different skills like learning skills as well as life skills. They develop their critical and problem solving mind, develop curiosity for learning, open mindedness, creativity, develop perseverance and determination, and want to be independent in doing certain things. Though students develop differential personality traits and skills at higher educational stage, at the same time they need some approaches like heutagogy and motivation to foster their self -determined learning. In order to effective and balance learning, managing and handling different pressure arises from higher education institutions; students have to be motivated enough so that it can’t affect in fruitful learning and achievements in higher education. This paper also studies how Heutagogical approach helps students in self reflection and overcoming the challenges faced the students with Heutagogical way and help in fostering self learning especially in higher education.Published
