Ancient Indian treatment system reflects a holistic approach to healthcare, deeply rooted in the cultural, philosophical, and environmental contexts of the Indian subcontinent. Central to these systems is the principle of balance between the body, mind and environment, empathizing prevention over cure. Among the prominent traditional systems are Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani, each offering unique perspectives on the health and wellness. Ayurveda, derived from the Vedic texts, is considered the oldest system of focuses on the balance of the three dishes: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. It employs natural remedies, dietary regulations, yoga and meditation to promote physical and mental well-being. They Siddha system, prevalent in South India, emphasizes the use of minerals and herbs and integrates spiritual practices for holistic healing. Meanwhile, the Unani system, influenced by Greek-Arabic medicine, incorporates the four humors (Blood, phlegm, yellow bile, and black bile) to diagnose and treat diseases.Published
