INTEGRATING THE INDIAN KNOWLEDGE SYSTEM AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – A VALUE-BASED APPROACH

Abstract

With the changing times, Artificial Intelligence has rapidly gained universal acceptance in modern society and is spreading its influence in every field, including education, health, agriculture, and various professions. However, while this influence of AI and the excessive dependency negatively affect human intelligence and critical thinking, it simultaneously impacts social decay and the value system of society. Issues such as moral decay, privacy violations, inherent biases, and a materialistic mindset have placed AI under intense scrutiny. On the other hand, the Indian knowledge tradition and value system have been rich since ancient times, which are not limited to only materialistic concepts but also improve the universal development of the individual- intellectually, morally, and socially. In the 21st-century era of globalization, along with advanced technology, the practice of values has become essential. Therefore, if it is possible to integrate the Indian Knowledge System with modern technological practices and education, it will strengthen global progress and human connection. In the research paper under discussion, the current situation of Artificial Intelligence and the current state of the Indian Knowledge System have been discussed in detail, and values such as utility judgment, patience, moderation, and non-violence have been connected to AI to influence ethical practices. Along with this, the possibilities that the integrated knowledge of AI and IKS can strengthen technological and sustainable development for human welfare have been explored.
