Education in the 21st century is transforming rapidly, driven by advancements in technology, globalization, and the growing need for lifelong learning. Traditional teaching methods often fall short in equipping learners with the adaptability and self-reliance needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Heutagogy, or self-determined learning, offers a learner-centered approach that emphasizes autonomy, critical reflection, and the ability to learn how to learn. When combined with Open - Distance Learning (ODL), heutagogy creates an inclusive, flexible, and technology-enhanced learning experience tailored to individual needs. This chapter explores the synergy between heutagogy and ODL, showcasing their shared focus on learner empowerment, non-linear educational pathways, and contextual learning. Together, these approaches pave the way for a transformative education model that fosters curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong passion for growth.Published
