INTEGRATION OF AI IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE LIGHT OF NEP 2020: A PATH TO VIKSIT BHARAT 2047

Abstract

The chapter tries to study the significance of AI integration in higher education for achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 with special reference to the National Educational Policy 2020. It is a review chapter based on secondary data. It highlights how integration of AI in higher education with reference to National Education Policy 2020 can contribute to Viksit Bharat 2047. Also how this integration is substantial for preparing a future-ready higher education ecosystem. The AI integration is discussed based on the eight key areas of reform under NEP 2020 as follows- quality education, holistic and multidisciplinary approach, research and innovation, internationalization, institutional autonomy and governance, inclusion and equity, and digital transformation and vocational training and employability. Thus, the chapter contributes to the understanding of how the integration of AI in higher education shows the path to Viksit Bharat in the light of the National Education Policy 2020.
