E-GOVERNANCE AS A CATALYST FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN INDIA

Abstract

E-governance is an initiative for the administration of a state or country that leverages information and communication technology to efficiently deliver impartial and appropriate services to the public. This system facilitates seamless electronic communication between the administration and the citizenry, thereby ensuring authenticity and transparency throughout the process. E-governance is a very simple and cost-effective method that allows many tasks to be completed quickly and easily; however, the initial implementation is expensive, and it requires skilled users. Various public and private initiatives are required for this purpose, as broadband internet connectivity, computers or laptops, and digital literacy are essential prerequisites for utilizing this service. This article addresses these aspects, drawing upon information from various websites, journals, and other sources. The discussion presented here is primarily based on a descriptive research methodology.
