Mental health is a fundamental component of overall health and quality of life. Community mental health emphasizes the delivery of accessible, affordable, and person-centered mental healthcare within community settings rather than relying solely on institutional services. This approach promotes mental well-being, prevents mental disorders, facilitates early identification, and provides treatment and rehabilitation while allowing individuals to remain connected with their families and communities. Psychological well-being encompasses emotional stability, resilience, positive relationships, self-acceptance, and the ability to cope effectively with life's challenges. Increasing stress, rapid urbanization, financial insecurity, social isolation, and the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have intensified the global burden of mental health problems. Consequently, strengthening community-based mental health services has become a public health priority. This paper discusses the concept and evolution of community mental health, theoretical foundations, major applications, multidisciplinary healthcare roles, benefits, challenges, ethical considerations, and strategies for improving psychological well-being. Community-oriented mental healthcare enhances quality of life, reduces stigma, encourages early intervention, and promotes healthier, more resilient societies.Published
