Abstract

This chapter explores the challenges faced by individuals during their crucial developmental stages. It examines how a positive community contributes to human development and how a negative community influences the decline of an individual's growth and development. The chapter focuses on the presence and absence of community support and its influence on the way individuals perceive themselves, respond to adversities, and participate in society. It also discusses the role of community support across childhood, adolescence, youth, and adulthood, the effects of prejudice, role confusion, and the importance of creating a safe community that promotes positive development, healthy transitions, and overall upliftment.
