Abstract

Isolation and loneliness among older people have become serious public health problems, reflected in worrying declines in cognitive, emotional and physical health. Examines how community programs such as neighborhood clubs, senior centers and community gardens cam work as structure intervention reduce isolation and improve quality of life old age. Look closely at Ray Oldenburg’s third place theory as a theoretical basis, showing how varied social and physical settings help information and social interaction happen. The analysis shows this clearly. Local environments do a great deal to raise social capital, build valuable weak ties and create a sense of community. Community spaces provide different activities which calls for structural- contextual planning in both urban and rural areas so the ideas of community psychology can shape urban space design.
