The legal profession is characterised by high levels of occupational stress, ethical responsibility, and demanding professional expectations, making psychological well-being an increasingly important concern. Organisational factors, particularly ethical climate, have emerged as significant determinants of employee mental health and workplace functioning. Ethical climate refers to employees' shared perceptions of organisational values, ethical standards, fairness, and decision-making practices that guide professional behaviour. This review examines the relationship between ethical climate and psychological well-being within legal systems by synthesising existing literature from organisational psychology, legal psychology, and occupational health. The review highlights evidence suggesting that ethical leadership, organisational transparency, fairness, and supportive workplace cultures contribute to improved psychological well-being, greater job satisfaction, enhanced resilience, and reduced occupational stress among legal professionals. Conversely, unethical organisational environments are associated with burnout, emotional exhaustion, and psychological distress. The literature further reveals that although mental health in the legal profession has received growing attention, empirical investigations specifically examining the influence of ethical climate on psychological well-being remain limited. Existing studies have largely focused on lawyers or individual occupational outcomes, leaving a broader gap concerning legal systems as organisational settings. The review concludes that fostering a positive ethical climate may serve as an important organisational strategy for promoting employee well-being and professional effectiveness. The findings provide theoretical insights and practical implications for legal institutions seeking to develop ethical workplace policies, psychologically safe organisational cultures, and sustainable employee well-being initiatives while identifying directions for future research.Published
