Community mental health is a vital component of public health that promotes psychological well-being, prevents mental disorders, and ensures accessible, community-based mental healthcare. Mental health is influenced by biological, psychological, social, economic, environmental, and lifestyle factors, with rapid urbanization, social inequalities, and public health emergencies increasing the global burden of mental illness. This chapter discusses the concepts of community mental health and psychological well-being from modern and Unani perspectives, highlighting determinants, common mental health disorders, and associated risk and protective factors. It emphasizes evidence-based strategies for mental health promotion, including mental health literacy, early screening, psychosocial support, school- and workplace-based interventions, family and community participation, digital mental health, and tele-psychiatry. The role of Unani principles, particularly Asbab-e-Sitta Zarooriya (six essential factors), Tadeel-e-Mizaj (temperamental balance), and holistic lifestyle modification, in promoting mental well-being is also discussed. Integrating community participation, primary healthcare, and traditional knowledge with modern mental health services can improve resilience, reduce treatment gaps, and enhance quality of life and sustainable development.Published
