Pain is a subjective and multifaceted experience that extends beyond biological mechanisms and tissue pathology. Contemporary understanding recognizes that social relationships, cultural beliefs, and environmental conditions significantly influence the perception, expression, and management of pain. Social determinants such as family support, socioeconomic status, education, and healthcare accessibility shape coping behaviors and treatment outcomes. Cultural values influence pain-related beliefs, communication patterns, and preferences for traditional or modern therapeutic approaches. Environmental factors, including workplace ergonomics, housing conditions, climate, and exposure to stressors, further affect pain intensity and recovery. These determinants interact dynamically, creating unique pain experiences among individuals and populations. The biopsychosocial model provides a comprehensive framework for understanding these interactions and emphasizes the need for holistic assessment and intervention. Recognizing social, cultural, and environmental influences enables healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered and culturally responsive care. This chapter explores the social, cultural, and environmental determinants of pain and highlights their implications for clinical practice and public health.Published
