Abstract

In orthopaedic physiotherapy, patients can get help through manual therapy when they experience pain or have dysfunction in their musculoskeletal system. This includes a combination of techniques performed with hands-on techniques such as joint mobilization, spinal manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques and neural mobilization. These techniques focus on decreasing pain, increasing mobility and improving how the patient can function during their daily life. Neck pain, low back pain, shoulder injuries, knee arthritis, and lateral epicondylitis are examples of conditions in which a multimodal treatment plan is significantly beneficial for maximum results.
