The growing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education is transforming how students learn, think, communicate, and prepare for their future careers. Human–AI collaboration focuses on using AI to support and enhance human abilities rather than replacing them. This chapter examines how collaboration with AI can help students develop important future-ready skills, including creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and digital competence. AI tools can assist learners in generating ideas, finding and evaluating information, receiving personalized academic support, and managing complex learning tasks. However, human abilities such as independent judgment, creativity, ethical reasoning, communication, and decision-making remain essential for meaningful learning and responsible technology use.The use of AI also presents challenges, including overdependence on AI-generated content, misinformation, privacy risks, algorithmic bias, and unequal access to digital technologies. Educators should therefore promote responsible AI use through learner-centered teaching approaches that combine technological knowledge with human-centered skills. Effective human–AI collaboration can help higher education institutions prepare students to become innovative, adaptable, digitally competent, and responsible individuals who can evaluate information critically and make informed decisions in an increasingly technology-driven academic, professional, and social environment.Published
