Abstract

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies is transforming educational experiences, practices, and knowledge creation. This chapter explores the need to reimagine schools, universities, teachers, and learners within a posthuman learning ecosystem, where humans and technologies interact continuously in the processes of teaching, learning, and knowledge construction. Learning increasingly extends beyond teacher explanations and textbooks through observation, experience, sensory engagement, digital media, and practical activities. Rather than replacing teachers, AI transforms their roles, enabling greater attention to learners’ individual needs, motivation, emotional wellbeing, creativity, and holistic development. AI-supported simulations and digital learning environments can also connect theoretical concepts with practical experiences, particularly in subjects such as physics. However, AI-integrated education presents challenges, including resistance to technological change, digital inequality, technological dependence, inappropriate AI use, and reduced independent thinking. The chapter argues that reimagining education requires a balanced approach in which AI strengthens learning while human agency, creativity, relationships, and development remain central.
