Abstract

Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) is rapidly transforming educational practices by reshaping the ways teachers design instruction, learners engage with knowledge, and educational content is created and disseminated. With a focus on its pedagogical potential, real-world applications, and ethical ramifications, this chapter explores the developing role of generative AI in teaching, learning, and content production. Lesson preparation, differentiated instruction, assessment design, feedback, and the creation of interactive learning materials can all be supported by generative AI in the classroom. More learner autonomy and engagement can be fostered by AI-powered systems that enable individualized learning, brainstorming, language development, collaborative inquiry, and quick academic help. The potential of generative AI to create a variety of educational materials, such as text, presentations, activities, tests, multimedia materials, and adaptive learning content, is also examined in this chapter. At the same time, concerns about algorithmic bias, academic integrity, misinformation, data privacy, intellectual dependency, and the evolving role of teachers need to be critically examined. The chapter makes the case that generative AI should be seen as a supplemental technology that can enhance human-centered pedagogy rather than as a replacement for teachers. Therefore, to enable significant, inclusive, and long-lasting educational transformation, effective integration necessitates AI literacy, ethical awareness, critical thinking, and responsible teaching methods.
