The advent of Information Technology (IT) has revolutionized the field of library management, transformed traditional practices and improved the efficiency of library operations. This paper explores the impact of IT on various aspects of library management, including cataloging, acquisition, circulation, and information retrieval. The integration of computerized systems and digital tools has significantly streamlined processes, reduced human error, and enhanced user access to resources. Technologies such as Online Public Access Catalogs (OPACs), Integrated Library Management Systems (ILMS), and digital repositories have empowered libraries to manage vast collections of physical and digital resources effectively. Additionally, IT has facilitated better resource sharing and collaboration between libraries through networking and the creation of digital consortia. The use of technology has also enabled libraries to expand their services, offering remote access to materials, e-books, and databases, thereby increasing their reach to a global audience. However, the implementation of IT in library management presents challenges, including the need for proper infrastructure, staff training, and the preservation of digital content. This chapter assesses these challenges and suggests strategies to overcome them. Ultimately, the research highlights that the integration of IT in library management has led to more efficient operations, improved user satisfaction, and an enhanced ability to preserve and disseminate knowledge in the digital age.Published
