Education has long been regarded as the foundation of a nation’s development. It not only equips individuals with knowledge and skills but also moulds their values, attitudes, and behaviours, which collectively shape a nation’s identity and future. Throughout history, various thinkers and policymakers have envisioned education as a transformative force for societal and national development. In the Indian context, Mahatma Gandhi and Sri Aurobindo emerged as two influential figures whose educational philosophies sought to redefine the relationship between education and nation-building. Their ideas, deeply rooted in the cultural, social, and spiritual ethos of India, continue to resonate in the country’s educational landscape today.Published
