Adolescents is considered as a crucial phase of human’s life dealing with full of developmental challenges like identity formation, developing independence and pressure of career. Hence, involvement of parents plays a very significant role in shaping these developmental aspects. So, the study aims to assess how fathers and mothers involve in their child’s development in terms of expressive involvement [EI], instrumental involvement [II], and mentoring/advising involvement [MAI]). The participants consisted of 30 college going girls and 30 boys between age 18 to 23 years living with both the parents and students living with one parent were excluded from the sample. Data was collected using Father Involvement Scale (Finley and Schwartz, 2004) and Mother Involvement Scale (Finley et al., 2008). Result using t-test for independent group indicated that the EI of fathers (M=30.10, SD=6.12), compared to mothers (M=31.98, SD=5.41) demonstrated no significant difference, t = -1.785, p=0.77. There was no significant difference in II t = -1.002, p= .318 when compared fathers (M=32.33, SD=33.35) and mothers (M=33.35, SD=5.03). MAI shows no significant difference of fathers (M=16.40, SD=2.87), compared to mothers (M=16.10, SD=2.85), t = .573, p= .568. It concludes that both the parents contribute equally in all domains of parental involvement.Published
