This chapter conveys a unique combination of Western psychological concepts and Eastern spiritual philosophy as it investigates Sri Aurobindo's psychological ideas, particularly his ideas of integral consciousness and self-concept. According to Sri Aurobindo, human consciousness is a dynamic force rather than a fixed entity that can transcend the ego-based identity that permeates conventional psychological theories. His integrated awareness framework seeks to integrate the intellectual, spiritual, physical, and vital aspects of the human experience into an integrated whole. The evolutionary potential of humans is highlighted by this holistic approach to awareness, in which the self-concept develops from an ego cantered identity toward a deeper link with universal consciousness.Published
