Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence in the light of new-age media is growing at an unprecedented pace. AI tools are being used in every sector, including banking, healthcare, and e-commerce but the media and entertainment industry is emerging as a notable adopter that is used to expedite repetitive tasks, streamline captioning, filter and distribute news, and much more. The objectives of this research paper are to explain the impact of AI on the education system in light of new-age media through a detailed survey-based, systematic analysis with proper theoretical background and literature reviews. The education sector with the advent of ICT and digital media has reached so many heights and can be enriched by the incorporation of artificial intelligence in various aspects. Virtual reality significantly facilitates the learning process beyond the classical learning space, creating global classes and allowing the connection of different students in virtual classes, especially during the pandemic period. The data of this research paper is based on the responses collected from a survey that made various inquiries with hundreds of college and university students about their thoughts on AI. The survey asked a total of ten questions which included yes/no questions, multiple choice questions, Likert scale questions (agree/disagree with the statement), etc. AI technology is flexible and diverse, it functions in learning and teaching activities in a variety of ways, and the future of education is highly correlated with the future of AI. It helps students to acquire the so-called 21st-century skills, including communication, collaboration, citizenship, digital literacy, creativity, critical thinking, or problem-solving, and are more related to economic and social developments. The results of this paper provide a reference for further research on the effect of AI on role cognition in the education system.
