This paper examines Indian educators' perspectives on the role and impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education, focusing on its potential to enhance teaching strategies, boost student engagement, and improve educational outcomes. As AI technology becomes more embedded in global educational systems, understanding its implications in the Indian context becomes essential. To capture these insights, a survey was conducted among educators across diverse Indian colleges and universities, evaluating their familiarity with AI and perceived advantages and challenges associated with its use. Chi-square tests were applied to assess the statistical significance between educators’ familiarity with AI and their viewpoints on its effects. This study addresses a key gap in current research by presenting data-driven insights into Indian educators' attitudes toward AI, underscoring the importance of further research on AI's transformative potential in India’s higher education landscape.Published
