Abstract

The integration of life skills and yoga into school curricula has gained widespread attention due to their potential to foster holistic development in students. Life skills, including critical thinking, emotional intelligence, communication and decision-making are essential for students to navigate the complexities of modern life. Simultaneously, yoga, with its emphasis on physical, mental and emotional well-being, offers a pathway to developing mindfulness, resilience, and self-regulation. This paper explores the benefits and challenges of incorporating these elements into school curricula. It highlights how life skills and yoga not only improve students' academic performance but also contribute to their personal growth, social wellbeing and overall health. By fostering these competencies early on schools can equip students with tools for managing stress, building positive relationships and making informed decisions. The paper also discusses best practices for the effective integration of life skills and yoga in schools, as well as the need for trained educators and appropriate resources. Ultimately, the inclusion of life skills and yoga in education presents a transformative opportunity for creating well-rounded, resilient and self-aware individuals.
