Abstract

Our forefathers have always said that ‘Health is wealth’. In order to succeed in life, an individual must have a healthy body and sound mind. A healthy person can accomplish anything. But in the current scenario, a large number of people are dealing with various health problems such as emotional difficulties, mental health problems, and physical health issues. Yoga is one of the best solutions we can encounter in life. Yoga is both the art and the science of life. Yoga benefits people of all age groups. The benefits include physical fitness, mental peace, healthy body, improved physiological functioning of body and spiritual awakening. Yoga is essentially a system of mental and physical development and spiritual emancipation. This chapter focuses on how yoga affects both mental and physical wellness. It also highlights the different forms of Yoga and several ways in which yoga could be helpful. Yoga integrates the mind, body, and spirit and encourages harmony in thoughts, words, and actions.
