Life skills education plays a pivotal role in equipping individuals with the ability to effectively navigate the challenges of daily life. These skills, encompassing critical thinking, decision-making, communication, emotional intelligence, and adaptability, are integral in fostering holistic development. Indian education policies and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 India emphasizes the importance of life skill education as a core component of its transformative vision for the education system. NEP 2020 advocates for a learner-centric, multidisciplinary approach that integrates life skills into the curriculum in every stage of education. The policy highlights the significance of fostering 21st-century skills such as creativity, collaboration, digital literacy, and ethical reasoning alongside traditional academic knowledge. By promoting experiential learning, value-based education, and socio-emotional learning, NEP 2020 aims to nurture well-rounded, resilient individuals prepared for the complexities of a globalized world. This abstract explores the intersection of life skill education and NEP 2020, exploring its potential to empower learners, reduce inequities, and contribute to national development. It underscores the policy’s emphasis on inclusivity, flexibility, and vocational training, providing a roadmap to create an education system that not only imparts knowledge but also cultivates lifelong learners and responsible citizens.Published
