The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023 represent a paradigm shift in India's approach to education. These frameworks emphasize structural changes, pedagogical innovation, competency-based assessments, and cultural inclusivity through the integration of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). By replacing rigid traditional models with a more holistic, flexible, and multidisciplinary framework, these policies aim to align India's education system with global standards while preserving its cultural ethos. This chapter examines the key components of NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023, including the 5+3+3+4 educational structure, the transition to competency-based assessments, and the integration of IKS. Furthermore, it discusses the opportunities and challenges of implementing these reforms and explores their potential to shape a future-ready, inclusive education system. The chapter concludes by providing actionable recommendations to address implementation challenges and ensure the realization of these ambitious goals.Published
