IMPACT OF THE NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY 2020 ON THE INDIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM

Abstract

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 aims to provide high quality education to all and transform India into a knowledge society on five guiding pillars: access, equity, quality, affordability, and accountability. The vision is to prepare youth to meet national and global challenges by understanding several interventions aimed at developing cognitive skills, such as literacy and numeracy, and higher-order skills, such as critical thinking and problem solving. This paper explores the impact of NEP 2020 on various aspects of education in India, including curriculum reforms, teacher training, and the integration of technology. It also analyses data and trends post-implementation, providing insights into the effectiveness of the policy.
