Abstract

Innovative teaching methods in educational research have attained significant attention in recent years as educators strive to enhance student engagement, foster critical thinking, and adjust to the different emerging needs of the modern classroom. The unification of innovative pedagogy and technology has become a key focus, as they offer the possibility to transmogrify the way students learn and interact with study material. The NEP 2020 recognizes important Innovative Teaching-learning practices, such as experiential learning, the use of role-playing, flipped classrooms, active and blended learning, etc. These innovative pedagogy approaches have been recognized as having the potency to facilitate the development of 21st-century skills, which are increasingly in demand in the modern workforce. These approaches are often tied to specific technological developments or an advanced understanding of the science of learning, offering new opportunities for engaging and empowering students. The purpose of this chapter is to understand the conventional (Traditional) methods of teaching as well as to explore the innovative methods of the teaching-learning process in today’s modern educational system.
