The Gurukul System, rooted in ancient Indian Knowledge and Education system (more commonly known as Bhartiya Gyaan and Shiksha Pranali), represents a holistic, learner-centered approach. Established in Vedic times, it represented a unique scholastic model where students (shishyas) resided with their teacher (guru), grasping the principles of learning through experience, discipline, and close mentorship. The Gurukul System encompassed not only academic but also spiritualand vocational learning, nurturing mind, body, and soul to cultivate seasoned individuals. Unlike modern day education system and institutions therein, introduced by Macaulay during the colonial era, the Gurukul system of education emphasized values, ethics, and community welfare, with students engaging in both intellectual pursuits and daily responsibilities, thereby building life skills and fostering resilience.Published
