Abstract

At its most basic level, digital storytelling is the art of telling stories with computer-based tools. Many other terms, like interactive storytelling, digital documentaries, computer-based narratives, digital essays, electronic memoirs, and so on, are also used to refer to this practice; however, they all generally center on the idea of fusing the craft of storytelling with a range of multimedia, such as graphics, audio, video, and Web publishing. Digital storytelling, to put it simply, is the art of telling stories through technology. Digital stories can be conveyed in a variety of ways, such as through text on a webpage or social media platform, voiceover and visuals in a video, or audio in a podcast. Digital stories are narratives designed to take the reader or listener on a journey, not just facts presented with images. Digital stories have a storyline, characters, and themes, just like a book or documentary does Multimedia presentations that incorporate a range of digital elements into a narrative framework are another term for digital stories. These days, screen media is becoming more and more common in the lives of young children. Preschoolers are frequently exposed to digital technology before being introduced to books, according to research. (Brody, 2015; Hopkins et al., 2013). Storytelling in the future will be intuitive, immersive, and collaborative, and it is already happening. Those who can effectively communicate and have a solid grasp of the factors influencing the development of storytelling will take charge of the story.
