Abstract

Technology addiction has become a critical issue in modern society, particularly among youth. This phenomenon is characterized by excessive and uncontrollable use of digital devices, social media platforms, and online entertainment, which often disrupts daily life and mental well-being. Psychological implications of technology addiction include heightened levels of anxiety, depression, and reduced attention spans, along with impaired cognitive and emotional development. On the social front, excessive screen time diminishes face-to-face interactions, hinders social skills development, and fosters isolation, even in highly connected environments. Contributing factors to technology addiction among youth include peer pressure, accessibility to technology, and the design of addictive algorithms in digital platforms. Understanding the interplay between these factors and their implications is crucial for developing effective interventions. This paper explores the multidimensional impact of technology addiction on the psychological and social dimensions of young individuals, while also discussing strategies for fostering healthier technology habits.
