Abstract

The concept of Smart Cities has emerged as a transformative solution to address the growing challenges of urbanization, sustainability, and quality of life. By leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Cities integrate advanced technologies to optimize urban infrastructure, enhance resource efficiency, and improve citizen engagement. This approach encompasses various domains, including energy management, waste reduction, transportation systems, and public safety, fostering a connected ecosystem where real-time data drives decision-making. IoT-enabled sensors, devices, and platforms facilitate seamless communication and automation, empowering urban administrators to anticipate challenges and implement proactive solutions. The convergence of IoT with artificial intelligence (AI) and big data analytics further amplifies the potential of Smart Cities by enabling predictive maintenance, environmental monitoring, and adaptive service delivery. However, the adoption of such technologies requires addressing critical challenges such as data privacy, cybersecurity, and equitable access. By focusing on sustainable practices and inclusive innovation, Smart Cities hold the promise of creating resilient, efficient, and livable urban environments for future generations.
