FLIPPED CLASSROOMS: REDEFINING TEACHING AND LEARNING DYNAMICS

Abstract

For centuries, traditional lecture-based classrooms have served as the foundation of education. However, the rapid advancement of technology and evolving learning methodologies have paved the way for the flipped classroom model—a revolutionary approach that reimagines the teaching-learning process. By inverting the conventional lecture-homework structure, this model shifts instructional content outside the classroom, utilizing class time for active, collaborative learning experiences. This paper explores the concept of flipped classrooms, highlighting their advantages, challenges, and overall impact on education. Drawing insights from existing research and case studies, we explore how flipped classrooms influence student engagement, academic performance, and teacher professional development. Findings suggest that this approach enhances student outcomes, fosters greater teacher satisfaction, and optimizes classroom interactions. However, its implementation is not without obstacles, as technological limitations, equity concerns, and faculty resistance remain significant challenges.
