The rapid integration of digital technologies in educational institutions has revolutionized teaching and learning but has also introduced significant cyber security and data privacy challenges. Schools, colleges, and universities collect vast amounts of sensitive student and faculty data, making them prime targets for cyber threats such as ransom-ware, phishing, and data breaches. This research explores the current cyber security risks in educational settings and evaluates existing data protection frameworks, regulatory policies, and technological safeguards. It also investigates the effectiveness of cyber security awareness programs among students and educators. By analysing case studies and contemporary incidents, this study highlights vulnerabilities in cloud-based learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and IoT-enabled classroom environments.Published
