Abstract

From the ancient Greek philosophy to modern philosophy where moral in exactness is privileged, Aristotle’s virtue ethics offers us a great framework for cultivating human moral development and it also helps to achieve Eudaimonia. Aristotle, a great Greek philosopher, who is also known as – ‘Father of zoology’ for the contribution in zoological field. This chapter finds out Aristotle’s theory of virtue ethics and its eminent impression or role in the human character-building process. This chapter focus on the moral excellence through the effect of Aristotle’s virtue ethics. This chapter also includes how it shapes our personality and how his ethics made us more morally excellence through practice, repetition and habituations. It also examines how Aristotle focus on practicality of human wisdom, power in different situation of our life from analysing key aspects of Aristotle’s virtue ethics, like – its meaning, characteristics, types, habituations etc. The explored the significant role of virtue leading one’s moral development. Moreover, it focuses on the implication of the virtue ethics in one’s character-building practices, and also highlighted that it’s a lifelong journey. If someone developed his/her moral development through Aristotle’s virtue ethics, it also helps in their ethical appropriate decision making throughout in his/her lifelong journey.
