Abstract

Aristotelian philosophy has had profound influence on both counselling and teaching practices in the present time. His focus on ‘eudaimonia’ or flourishing as well as emphasis on ‘body and soul’ bear direct relevance to individualised holistic teaching practices in inclusive education. Here, Aristotle bears inspiration to philosophical counselling which can help to modify behaviour of students in educational institutions. This article will highlight some of Aristotle’s ideas in counselling and teaching and their relevance to a case study. Case study shows under inclusive educational framework, holistic approach in teaching-learning benefitted a struggling intelligent learner to realise his fullest potential .
